Narrative:: Estacada Lake is a quiet, dammed up section of the Clackamas River that can get really busy on hot summer days. So, let's hit it early on this Friday paddle and we'll get in some exercise and fun before the heat of the day hits. There is virtually no current at the launch, but we can expect to see some current at the turn around about 2.5 to 3 miles up the river where we'll hopefully be able to get out of our kayaks, take a break and enjoy a snack. I suspect we'll be off the water between noon and 1pm so there is no need to pack a full lunch unless you want to eat in the park after the paddle.

We'll launch from the Estacada Lake Boat Launch accessed from the Milo McIver State Park. A current annual Oregon State Parks Pass can be used for entry, or you can purchase a $10 day pass at the kiosk as you enter the park. When planning your travel time to the launch please allow time to stop and buy your day pass as well as a 10-minute drive thru the park to the boat launch. You can unload your boat at the put in before parking (or bring a set of wheels) but it could get a bit congested at the boat ramp if other uses are trying to launch as well. There is a pit toilet at the parking lot as well.

We will meet at 9am (come earlier if you need more time to get ready), have the safety talk at 9:30am and be ready to launch at 9:45am
