Narrative::
Hey OOPS paddlers, join me this coming Thursday, (8/20) for a paddle out of Newberg Rogers Landing. We'll head upriver, most likely inside of Ash Island, and continue to or near the mouth of the Yamhill River, where we will likely cross over to the beach on the east side to stop for a lunch break. Along the way, we often see an osprey or two, as there are usually many nests in the trees above Chehalem Creek. As we near the Yamhill, there is also usually an interesting artifact to see up on the bank to our right (river left). Weather forecast currently says about 60 degrees at 9 a.m. climbing into the 80s in the afternoon, so bring a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water to stay hydrated. There is a parking fee of $3, I believe, per car.
Water temperature should be in the low 70's, so dress appropriately for potential immersion.
I should be there by 8 a.m., but please be there early enough to be on the ramp, water ready by 09:00.
