Full Name::
Paige Light
Narrative::
Join Paige for an afternoon paddle up to the Narrows before the General meeting at Willamette Park in West Linn. We'll meet at the Non Motorized Boat Launch on the Tualatin River, in Willamette Park and launch there. Then we'll cross the Willamette and paddle up river a couple of miles, up through the narrows if there's enough water, or up the East side of Rock Island if the water is too low, returning down the West bank to the put in. Along the way, we'll find a good spot for a chance to practice wet exits and rescues, and rolls, have a snack, and a bio break. Then we'll return to the put in by 5 pm so foks can get boats loaded and into dry clothes for pizza and salad at 6, and our general meeting with learning stations at 7 pm. Be sure to register for the General meeting if you are going to attend, as we need accurate numbers for the pizza order.
Watch for an update on potential weather closer to the paddle. Wear a spray skirt, no immersion wear required, the river is a balmy 72 degrees and 1/2 to 1 knot of current. Maybe bring a warmer layer for dinner in case you have wet hair, I know I will!
