Have you ever wanted to up your game when it comes to first aid? Every OOPS paddle requires at least one first aid person, and this could be you! Join us at the 2026 Annual Wilderness First Aid (WFA) Course, Sat Oct 10 and Sun Oct 11, at the University of Portland.
This fast-paced and interactive two-day course is designed to prepare an outdoors-person with the skills and tools they need to assess and treat an injured person, whether in the woods or on the water, and to call for evacuation when necessary. Successful participants will earn a two-year certification in Wilderness First Aid and CPR. Bring your first aid kit if you have one - we will review these. And bring your lunch, or funds to buy lunch. You won’t need your boat or other gear.
OOPS believes in safety, so the club will cover the first $100 of the course for up to 18 participants. The total out-of-pocket cost will be $175 for the first 18 participants instead of the usual $275 for a course of this caliber. Since the course is subsidized up front, it will not be eligible for tuition reimbursement. As of June 15, there are three seats available.
