Narrative::
Enjoy the fall colors and wildlife from a launch at Rogers Landing. Paddle upstream on the Willamette to at least the mouth of the Yamhill River. It is about 4 nm to the Yamhill River. We will go upstream on the inside of Ash Island (northwest side), hug the west (river left) side of the Willy up to the mouth of the Yamhill. We will come back on the other side of Ash Island so as to stay in the main current flow.
We will have a late start, with a ready to launch time of 10:45 AM, and a launch time of 11:00 AM. If you are habitually late (you know who you are), then the ready to launch time for you is 10:15 AM.
If the group is up for it, I would like to try and paddle past the Yamhill River up to the San Salvador Beach access point. Just because as best I know that has not yet been done on an OOPS trip. That adds about 1.5 nautical miles of upstream travel.
We will paddle at a brisk pace, a little faster than leisurely, but not at a race pace. If you are inclined to leave the group and paddle off by yourself, please don't come.
There is a $3 parking fee payable via credit card. Not sure which cards are accepted, but Mastercard and Visa are probably good choices.
We will take at least one shore break, and likely more.
Weather forecast looks pretty good: Partly sunny, with a high near 58. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.
River flow is currently 19,200 CFS and rising slowly.
Water temperature is about 53 degrees.
Towlines (both long and short) encouraged but not required.
Helmets not required.
