Full Name:
Brian Stewart
Narrative:
Come enjoy winding down the day with a low key Willamette River paddle and friends. We’ll meet up at Sportcraft Boat Ramp (under the 205 bridge) to Cedar Island Park. Coming from the south, we’ll be able to see if we can paddle along the western shore - is there enough clearance under the bridge? And enough water to float our boats?
This interior of this island is the cove adjacent to Cedar Oak Boat Ramp. We’ll take a break along one of the shores of the parks and can practice skills if paddlers choose too.
After the shore break (bring snacks if you like; a bathroom is available in the boat ramp parking lot), we’ll head back. We may be able to paddle to western side of Goat Island too.
When we get back to Sportcraft, we’ll have enjoyed ourselves, likely not with wildlife, but with an evening on the water, good conversation, and great people.
5-6 miles, no parking fee, lots of opportunities to break if needed
No immersion gear necessary, but consider an insulated top/layer if you want to practice any skills
