Launching from the beach at Seaview, we will spend some time playing in the surf before paddling south toward North Head. We will stop for a break at Beards Hollow on the north side of North Head. After break we will paddle around the head past the lighthouse and then around the north jetty. Once around the north jetty, we'll paddle into Deadman's Cove under the Cape Disappointment lighthouse for another break. Finally we will round Jetty A and paddle to the Cape Disappointment boat ramp where we will take out. Participants must have recent experience with negotiating surf. Helmets and VHF radios are required. A short car shuttle is needed for this trip. Cape Disappointment is a state park and you will need a Discover Pass for parking at the boat ramp. We will paddle approximately 13 nautical miles (15 statute miles) and you should be able to maintain a 3kt paddling pace while underway. We will meet at 9:30am at the end of the 38th Pl beach access road in Seaview. We'll then drop the boats and gear and move as many cars as possible to the ramp in Cape Disappointment State Park.
