Full Name: Ken Sund
Narrative: Let's practice using your towlines and doing rescues in dynamic water near rocks. This is a good opportunity to practice your rolls and self rescues in a supportive environment. Bring your own methods and experience to share. We can explore what to do when plan A fails and things get tricky. Helmets and towlines required as well as immersion gear to keep you warm enough. Internationally experienced sea kayaker and trip planner, Jeff King, will be leading some of the paddling exercises and demonstrations.
We will also have an opportunity to paddle out and in through breaking waves and surf or not surf. One main stepping stone to confidence in waves is edging and bracing. Edging and bracing is the cornerstone of surfing. Google Bracing and edging (in surf) before coming out here.
Carpool, bring food & water and tether the doo dads that you keep in the cockpit so we won't have to chase it too much. Tether your radio and other things you carry on your PFD.
