Full Name:
Nicholas Marshall
Narrative:
Join for a relaxed paddle around Ross Island. This is one of Nick’s mentored paddles with Jon Light-Powell serving as the mentor.
We will meet at Willamette Park in Portland by the boat ramp at 9:30am and launch at 10:00am, and we will be off the water by 1:00pm.
We will circumnavigate Ross Island counterclockwise and be on the lookout for wildlife. We will stop at the northern point of Ross Island for a break for lunch. Someplace around Toe Island, we will have an opportunity for rescue practice (optional).
Bring snacks/lunch/water, and sun protection.
The water temperature is expected to be 65-70°F, so cold water protective clothing is not required. If you want to practice rescues, something like a Farmer John wet suit might be nice.
