Whether you are new to traditional paddling, want to tune up some skills, or are just curious, this is the class for you! We'll have Greenland paddles you can try, and a couple of traditional kayaks available.

We will concentrate on moving through the water effortlessly with finesse. We will cover all the standard issues – forward stroke, turning, support, etc., but using effective Inuit technique. Understand why many modern kayakers have adopted and prefer the skinny Greenland paddle.

This class will also serve as an introduction to the next South Sound Traditional Inuit Kayaking Symposium (SSTIKS) http://qjaqpnw.org tentatively scheduled for Summer 2025
