Activity Title: Willamette Narrows to Hebb County Park R.T. L1 7-20-22
Date of Activity: 7/20/2022
Narrative: We’ll paddle round-trip from West Linn’s Willamette Park, head upstream past the Narrows, and then continue another 4 miles upstream to Clackamas County’s Hebb Park, for a total of 11-12 miles round-trip. The current will be less than a knot. This trip includes one of the prettiest sections of the Willamette in the metro area. This will be a relaxed pace paddle so that we can enjoy the scenery.
Lunch break will be at Hebb Park.
We'll plan to launch from the beach area on the west side of the park, where the Tualatin River meets the Willamette River. Turn RIGHT at the bottom of the hill. There is a reasonably decent path at the far west end of the beach area, near the large sign and kayak/canoe storage “kiosk.” Bring wheels if you have them.
Please be water-ready at 9:30 a.m. Water temperature is in the low 70s. Air temperature will increase from 70s up to high 80s or 90. No immersion wear is required. Paddlers should expect to stay with the pod.
Bathrooms are available at both Willamette and Hebb Parks. Free parking. Canoes with flotation and kayaks 12’ and longer are welcome providing that you can maintain a minimum 2.5 knot paddling speed. No inflatables, please.
