Multnomah Channel to Kelley Point and Return L2,2-13-22

 This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification (except for level 1 trips when the paddler is not using a spray skirt....if the paddler is wearing a spray skirt on a level 1 paddle, the Wet Exit Certification is REQUIRED).  To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group if you intend to wear a spray skirt.  Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment.  If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.

Narrative: Join Steve Blackwood and Bob Freshman for a paddle up the Multnomah Channel to Kelly point and return. We will put in at the Sauvie Island Boat Ramp and paddle down Multnomah Channel to where it intersects the Willamette River. This spot is a nice place to take a break and enjoy the change from a residential river to a working river. We then will turn to paddle down the Willamette River to Kelley Point and have lunch at the park with a view of the Columbia River. After lunch we will return to the Sauvie Island Boat Ramp. There are restrooms at the Boat Ramp and at Kelley Point Park. Parking is free at the Boat Ramp. This will be a bit longer paddle at 12 miles but at a fairly relaxed pace. Weather is looking very good at this point with sunny and high of 57 forecast.
