Registration is closed
  •  This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification (except for level 1 trips when the paddler is not using a spray skirt....if the paddler is wearing a spray skirt on a level 1 paddle, the Wet Exit Certification is REQUIRED).  To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group if you intend to wear a spray skirt.  Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment.  If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.

Activity Title: Cedaroak to Willamette Falls L2, 9-16-21
Date of Activity: 9/16/2021
Narrative: This is an afternoon round-trip to Willamette Falls from the Cedaroak Boat Ramp. We’ll launch at 1:00 p.m. and tuck behind Cedaroak and Goat Islands going upstream. We’ll break for a stretch and a snack on Goat Island on our way upstream, and maybe do the same on our way back.

There is generally a huge eddyline that’s fun to play in toward the far end of the base of the falls. This is strictly optional. We won’t be venturing into any lumpy waters any closer to the falls than that.

Both the tide and current will be in our favor on the return leg of our journey. We’ll be back at the boat ramp around 5:00 p.m., after paddling about 8 miles. This will be a relaxed pace trip.

This trip is suitable for boats 12 ft. and longer; no inflatables, please. Intermediate-advanced SUP paddlers who can keep up with kayaks are welcome.
