This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification (except for level 1 trips when the paddler is not using a spray skirt....if the paddler is wearing a spray skirt on a level 1 paddle, the Wet Exit Certification is REQUIRED).  To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group if you intend to wear a spray skirt.  Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment.  If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.

Activity Title: Willamette Narrows to Hebb County Park R.T. L2, 9-12-21
Date of Activity: 9/12/2021
Narrative: Calling the weekend warriors! Please join me on a trip through the Willamette Narrows, up to Hebb Park, and back to our launch spot at Bernert Landing (Boat Ramp) at Willamette Park. We’ll head upstream two miles through the Narrows, and then continue another 4 miles upstream to Clackamas County’s Hebb Park. This is a total of 11-12 miles round-trip. The current will be mild in the back channels and reasonable in the main channel. This trip includes one of the prettiest sections of the Willamette in the metro area. This will be a relaxed pace paddle so that we can enjoy the scenery. Lunch will be at Hebb Park or another spot along the route about 1 p.m.

We'll plan to launch from Bernert Boat Launch. Bring wheels if you have them. *We may need dock launch.* I believe we can park in the trailer area after Labor Day, but if I’m wrong, there are single car spaces nearby. Please arrive by 9:15 and be water-ready at 10:00 a.m. Water temperature is in the high-60s. Air temperature around 70-77. No immersion wear is required. Paddlers should expect to stay with the pod.

Bathrooms are available at both Willamette and Hebb Parks. Free parking. Canoes with flotation and kayaks 12’ and longer are welcome providing that you can maintain a minimum 3 mph paddling speed. No inflatables, please.
