This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification (except for level 1 trips when the paddler is not using a spray skirt....if the paddler is wearing a spray skirt on a level 1 paddle, the Wet Exit Certification is REQUIRED). To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group if you intend to wear a spray skirt. Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment. If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.
Full Name: Chris Mayou Activity Title: Yale Lake and Siouxon Creek L2, 9-9-21 Date of Activity: 9/9/2021 Narrative: Launch from Yale Park, paddle 3 miles on the lake, then paddle up Siouxon Creek until we feel like turning back! The creek has a bit of other-worldly feel to it, or at least that’s what I thought when I paddled there last year. With clear skies, we will have views of Mt. St. Helens. This is a remote-feeling lake, though power boats are allowed. 10-12 miles R.T. We can’t count on cell service while at Yale Lake. Parking should be free on Thursday. If not, it’s a $5 fee. I have specified no immersion wear, but you know your body best! You might want a layer of neoprene or even a drysuit. Directions: From the I-5 Woodland, Washington Exit #21, take Highway 503 East, approximately 29 miles to Yale Park.
