Registration is closed

This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification (except for level 1 trips when the paddler is not using a spray skirt....if the paddler is wearing a spray skirt on a level 1 paddle, the Wet Exit Certification is REQUIRED).  To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group if you intend to wear a spray skirt.  Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment.  If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.

Activity Title: Warrior Lighthouse from Scappoose Bay

Date of Activity: 3/31/2021
Narrativ Wednesday will be too nice a day not to get on the water. We'll launch from Scappoose Bay, paddle NE toward St Helens and then at the mouth of Scappoose Bay cross Multnomah Channel to the northern tip of Sauvie Island, round the tip and go south on the eastern side of Sauvie Island until the lighthouse. We take a break there for lunch and to enjoy the scenic view of the river, then retrace our steps. Overall length is 8+ miles. Bring a lunch.
Scappoose Bay Marine Park charges a $5 Parking fee (cash or credit card via machine except the machine is sometimes finicky and will only take cash and not make change.). Nearby porta-potty. Do not unload by the parking fee machine but rather in a designated kayak unload area by the building, then launch using the dock. Do not launch from the boat ramp or shoreline.
