  • Active club members, including kayaking professional and lifetime. Provisional acceptance pending approval of trip organizer.

Registration is closed

To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account. Your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group, if you intend to wear a spray skirt. Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment.  If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.
Please review the Covid precautions on our website and be ready to follow them.

Narrative: Join me next Tuesday for a paddle up the Willamette River to Hog Island. We'll launch from Milwaukie Bay Park and paddle upstream to Hog Island in Lake Oswego. We'll pass historic Elk Rock Island along the way. Our take-out will be on the backside of Hog Island where there's a small, but adequate beach for snacks and bio-breaks. The island is a primitive basalt formation with White Oaks and is habitat to local wildlife. After breaks and refreshments, we'll head back down river to our launch. Total distance will be approx. 7 miles. This is a great paddle for new members who want to experience a pleasant, level 1 paddle. Please familiarize yourself with our club's covid protocols at our website's "Documents" page.
