Narrative: Let's Opt Outside the day after Thanksgiving and work off some of that stuffing and pie! Join Bob Freshman and me for a relatively short paddle from Sellwood Park to Elk Rock and back. I have paddled out of Sellwood Park many times, but I have always gone north. I'd like to go south and check out Elk Rock this time. We can take a break on Elk Rock Island and may even be able to paddle around behind it for the return back to Sellwood Park. Total trip should be about 5 miles. Bring along a snack/lunch, water, and maybe a warm beverage. I'll bring a thermos of hot tea and cups, as well, in case you need a warm-up at the snack break.

Bathrooms available right beside the parking lot which also offers free parking.

Temps should be around 50-52. 20% chance of precip, and winds about 7 mph. Water temps will be around 48, so a full wetsuit will be required.

After-paddle gathering worth considering at the Muddy Rudder or other suitable venue. What do you say? Fresh air, paddling and camaraderie the day after Thanksgiving? Join us!
