This trip is limited to OOPS members who are WEC (unless exempt under Activity policy F.1). Registration on the website (for this & all Friday 8/18 trips & classes) will be opened in advance of the Event, on a date soon to be announced via the listserv.
Narrative: We'll put in about 1:30 at Vista Park, round the corner and paddle under the bridge Highway 4 the bridge. W'e'ill keep circling counterclockwise until we enter Skamokowa Creek. Battling the mighty current all the way, will get as far upstream as time and inclination allow. Rumor has it that there is a waterfall visible at low tide not very far up this Creek. However it's unlikely we'll even be able to detect it now.
When we feel we've gone far enough, or we run out of time, we'll retrace our route. I want to be off the water by 4:30 at the latest so people have ample time to prepare for the festivities. This is a leisurely trip to relax us at the beginning of the big weekend. Therefore, I want to be flexible about the start time based upon how many early birds show up, set up camp, and want to paddle for a while.
