Narrative: Launch at 8:30 am from campground, cross Active Pass and transit it with the ebb to Collinson Pt. Then paddle along the south side of Galiano Is. against a minimal ebb current to Phillimore Pt., entering Montague Harbor, paddle along the north side of Parker Island & cross to a beach within the Montague Harbour Provincial Marine Park for a well- deserved lunch break. We'll return with the ebb in Trincomali Channel and enter Active Pass close in time to the Slack Before Flood.

The max currents in Active Pass will range from 3.6 to 4.6 knots, but our timing should allow us to avoid those maximums. Nonetheless, given the narrowness of the Pass, even lower currents can be powerful & result in areas of potentially turbulent water.  In addition, an ever-present challenge in the Pass is the volume of ferry traffic (& other boats).

After we leave the Pass, there is only one potential take out, nearly 2nm away along Galliano's rock-wall shore. It will require a little stamina to traverse the entire 12 miles on the necessary schedule to catch the SBF into Active Pass on our return - but we will have a current assist for some portions of the trip.
