Did you ever wonder how your trip organizers got you safely into and then out of your boat and showed you a pretty good time in between?  You will not want to miss our monthly meeting at the Lucky Lab on March 29th,  when recent expatriate to Orcas Island and trip leader/instructor extraordinaire Carl Davis explains how club safety does not mean you have to wield a club for safety. He is well known for his engaging anecdotes & storytelling skills.

Longtime OOPS member Carl Davis has been paddling for about 7 years.  He holds a BCU 4 Star Leadership Award, and the BCU Coach level 1 Award. While serving for 2 years as Trips Coordinator for OOPS, Carl developed a one-day Trip Organizer Training Class (TOT), of which many of the current trip leaders are graduates.  Favorite kayaking trips have been to the Bunsby Islands on the west coast of Vancouver Island, and a 10 day trip paddling over the top of the island, from Port Hardy to Cape Scott.  This summer he hope to visit Vancouver Island’s Brook’s Peninsula, named by Captain Cook as the “Cape of Storms”.   Since this past October he has lived with his wife, Roz Montgomery on Orcas Island in Washington’s San Juan Islands.
